If you would have told me ten years ago that getting into photography would change the entire trajectory of my life… I probably wouldn’t believe you. However, it is 2022… Now that I am living my dream as a California Based Wedding Photographer, I owe photography so much!

Photography is fucking magical, and it is a major gift. Not only does it allow us to be creativos, pero also captures moments. I can’t think of anything more beautiful than that concept. Because of this, I want to help everyone interested in getting into photography start with a leg up. Even if you are just doing it to document your babies’ growth.

ONE | RESEARCH

The fact is simple. You need a camera. Although a quality camera is extremely nice, it isn’t necessary to start out with! It is okay to start with a cheaper DSLR camera you found on Facebook Marketplace.

TWO | SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT and DON’T STOP

Sabes the saying, “practice makes perfect?” Yeah, well whoever said it first wasn’t lying! The only way to become a better photographer is to practice as much as you can!

There are never too many pictures – I PROMISE.

Ask your friends and family to model for you. Everyone loves getting free photos, so capitalize on that want!

THREE | INVEST IN EDUCATION

Whether you are buying a course or going on shootouts with seasoned photographers, education is important. Sure, you can eventually teach yourself. However, you could save yourself so much time and unnecessary headaches by paying a professional for help.

FOUR | YOUTUBE EVERYTHING

We are in the era of technology… USE IT!!!

Youtube is the best place to help you polish up your education. There are millions of videos that are made to help photographers just like you!

Want to know something? Even photographers who have been at it for years still use Youtube! COUGH COUGH YO!

FIVE | YOUR STYLE WILL COME AND GO

The thing about your photography style is that you won’t find your style until you’ve tried them all! Honestly, even then, it is until you feel comfortable and secure that your style is defined! It can take años.

So be accepting and ride the wave!
